Mountz Jewelers Presents “The John Hardy Artisan Experience” Featuring Balinese Master Artisans in Live Demonstrations October 23–25, 2025

Mountz Jewelers proudly announces an exclusive collaboration with John Hardy for a one-of-a-kind event: The John Hardy Artisan Experience & Trunk Show, taking place October 23-25 across all three Mountz locations. This rare, immersive experience will offer guests the opportunity to witness the world-renowned craftsmanship of John Hardy's Master Artisans from Bali, an experience offered in only a handful of U.S. locations this year.

Over three unforgettable days, guests will meet and interact with two highly skilled artisans: a Master Chain Weaver and a Master Carver, each demonstrating the time-honored Balinese techniques that form the soul of John Hardy jewelry. Attendees will see raw metals transformed into intricate woven chains and watch wax carvings evolve into the foundations of sculptural masterpieces.

"John Hardy jewelry is renowned for its artistry, heritage, and sustainability, but to see the process unfold live is truly unforgettable," said Tonia Ulsh, Chief Operating Officer and Co-Owner at Mountz Jewelers. "We're thrilled to bring this experience to our clients-it's not just about jewelry, it's about honoring the artisans whose skill and passion bring each piece to life."

Event Schedule:
Thursday, October 23 | 4-7 PM
Mountz Jewelers Colonial Park / Harrisburg

Friday, October 24 | 3-6 PM
Mountz Jewelers Camp Hill

Saturday, October 25 | 1-4 PM
Mountz Jewelers Carlisle

During each event, a John Hardy brand ambassador will guide guests through the Fall 2025 Collection, as well as a curated Artisan Trunk of one-of-a-kind pieces not available anywhere else. Light refreshments will be served, and guests will receive gifts with purchase (while supplies last) and the chance to win a John Hardy necklace valued at $495.

About the Artisans of John Hardy
Founded in 1975 in Bali, John Hardy is more than a jewelry brand-it is a thriving artisan community rooted in sustainability, cultural preservation, and generational craft.

John Hardy's workshop in Bali, known as the Kapal Bambu (Bamboo Ship), is home to over 500 artisans, many of whom have trained for decades in traditional techniques. Central to this craftsmanship are two core disciplines:

  • Chain Weaving - A signature of the John Hardy Classic Chain collection, hand-woven link by link, with some chains requiring over four hours per inch to complete. The chain weaver uses age-old Balinese techniques to create fluid, tactile designs that symbolize interconnectedness.
  • Wax Carving - Master Carvers sculpt intricate motifs into jeweler's wax, forming the basis of metal castings. These carvings, often inspired by Balinese mythology, flora, and architecture, demand high precision and storytelling.

Visitors will witness these techniques up close and may even participate in the creative process under artisan guidance.

John Hardy's commitment to its artisans includes fair employment, apprentice programs, and cultural preservation efforts. Communal rituals, like the daily Long Table Lunch shared by all artisans and staff, reinforce the deep-rooted sense of community that defines the brand.
