Carlisle, PA – The Cumberland County Planning Commission is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on its board. Qualified applicants must be Cumberland County residents and willing to serve a four-year term beginning Jan. 2026.
Board members are expected to attend the commission’s monthly meetings, held at 7:30 a.m. on the third Thursday of each month. Residents interested in contributing to the county’s planning and development efforts are encouraged to apply. Experience in planning is helpful but not required.
The Cumberland County Planning Commission partners with its urban, suburban, and rural communities to create and implement plans that promote economic development, provide more housing and transportation choices, and protect clean air, land, and water.
A commission subcommittee will review applications, conduct interviews, and recommend potential members to the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners, who will make the final appointment decisions.
How to Apply: To be considered, residents need to complete an application and submit a one-page resume. Submission of application materials is due to the Cumberland County Planning Commission Office by Friday, Nov. 21, 2025.
