Z-Band Technologies is seeking an Embedded Hardware Engineer to join our engineering team to help support the development of the next generation of cutting-edge product hardware.

Position Overview
The Embedded Systems Design Engineer transforms product concepts into manufacturable, scalable embedded hardware solutions. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and leadership teams to deliver production-ready products that meet performance, regulatory, and reliability standards.
This is an on-site role based in Carlisle, PA.
What You Will Own
- End-to-end schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout
- Component selection and full BOM ownership
- PCB stack-up decisions and signal integrity considerations
- Gerber file generation and release to manufacturing
- Board bring-up, validation, and hardware debugging
- RF validation using spectrum analyzers and network analyzers
- Hardware support during firmware integration
- DFM/DFT improvements in collaboration with manufacturing partners
- Documentation, including schematics, architecture diagrams, and test procedures
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or closely related field) and minimum 2+ years of industry-based hardware product development experience
(Associate’s degree with 4+ years of industry hardware experience also considered) -
2–4+ years of hands-on embedded hardware design experience in a production environment

Demonstrated ownership of multi-layer PCB designs released to manufacturing

Strong experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium, OrCAD, or similar)

Experience generating Gerber files and managing BOMs

Embedded C/C++ experience supporting hardware integration

Experience working with microcontrollers and embedded firmware teams

Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and RF test equipment

Strong hardware troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience designing products for manufacturability (DFM) and testability (DFT)

Familiarity with FCC/UL compliance testing

Experience working with RF systems in embedded hardware products

Knowledge of CATV/DOCSIS or broadband distribution systems

Experience using Git or version control systems

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
