Financial Aid Coordinator and Cashier

This position is responsible for maintaining the computer interfaces between the Financial Aid Office and outside agencies, answering telephone and email, responding to general financial aid or student account questions from students or parents, forwarding questions to appropriate counselor or student account team member, serving as the cashier for the institution, supplying cash and coin for daily operations for dining services, the bookstore and mail center as well as receive daily deposits from other departments, reconcile cashier drawer daily, coordinating and assisting with the overall daily operations of the financial aid and student accounts offices.

Essential Functions:
 
  • Supervise and assist with the daily tasks of the financial aid and student accounts. These include but are not limited to answering telephone and email, responding to general financial aid or student account questions from students or parents, forwarding questions to appropriate counselor or student account team member, serving as the cashier for the institution, supplying cash and coin for daily operations for dining services, the bookstore and mail center as well as receive daily deposits from other departments, reconcile cashier drawer daily.
  • Manage electronic file inputs in the document imaging system for financial aid. Maintain department files, records, and confidential materials.
  • Process/prepare daily bank deposits for the institution, cash checks for employees/students, in addition to entering all financial transactions (deposits, payments) for the campus in the College’s system.
  • Serve as the back-up for the Loan Specialist. Assist with federal, private, and alternative loan processing and counseling.
  • Utilize and maintain computer database and software applications, and create and maintain Excel spreadsheets as required.
  • Assist with compliance to federal and state regulations by processing and resolving unmatched EDE & CSS records and preparing for audits from various agencies.
Required:
High school diploma or GED

Preferred:
Associate’s degree
