On Thursday, October 2, plan to join DVSCP for an engaging and impactful panel discussion that brings together advocates, legal experts, and law enforcement to shed light on the realities of domestic violence.
Panelists and attendees will review clips from the Netflix documentary "American Murder: Gabby Petito" to identify systemic gaps and discuss solutions to improve domestic violence response. The conversation will also explore the intersection of trauma-informed policing, legal protections, and survivor advocacy.
Experts will also identify missed red flags, warning signs, and early intervention, as well as how officers are trained in trauma-informed response and where the legal system falls short in protecting domestic violence victims.
The goal of this event is to empower our community members respond to red flags within their own social circles and to be a voice for change.
