A workshop on using a boiling water canner to preserve tomatoes and fruits is being conducted by Penn State Extension. Topics being covered include: the basic principles of canning, the latest recommendations for acidifying tomatoes, foods that can be processed in a boiling water canner, canning safety, and canning fruit with or without the use of sugar. Presented as a lecture and demonstration. Optional: bring your lunch and watch the So Easy To Preserve DVD series on water bath canning.
