Geisinger Holy Spirit to host Stop the Bleed training
Training empowers users to save a life through basic bleeding control

CAMP HILL – Geisinger Holy Spirit will host a free Stop the Bleed training session for the community on Sunday, May 19, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the hospital auditorium, 503 N. 21st St., Camp Hill.
Stop the Bleed training empowers people to make a difference in a life-threatening emergency by teaching the basic techniques of bleeding control. Sunny Goodyear, RN, trauma outreach and education coordinator, will present the training. The course is open to everyone age 14 and older.
Since January 2017, Geisinger has trained more than 10,000 people through the Stop the Bleed program. Geisinger has also distributed more than 2,300 bleeding control kits throughout central and northeastern Pennsylvania, including 772 kits to schools and organizations in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Perry and York counties. These kits are designed to help control or stop blood loss from traumatic events, including accidents, vehicle crashes and acts of violence. They are simple to use and contain easy-to-follow instructions to control bleeding.
To register for the training or for more information on the Stop the Bleed program, call 717-975-3267 or email SJGoodyear@geisinger.edu.
